18th Century Playing cards

This historically accurate deck features beautifully ilustrated Royal cards and suite cards. 18th century cards did not have numbers on them, you had to know how to count! The deck has full-length, single-ended court cards. The deck includes two informational cards, which provide a brief history of Early American Playing Cards. These are beautifully crafted with rounded edges (a must for 18th century cards) They are laminated, as were original cards.

Did you know that cards were taxed with the stamp act of 1765? That made them doubly taxed! One for being paper and another for being a luxory item! No wonder the colonists were mad! Our cards are wrapped in brown paper and tied with string!
